PLAN DESIGN & ADMINISTRATION
As a Third Party Administrator (TPA) for your plan, ETA Consulting, LLC delivers accurate and timely services at reasonable prices. Qualified plan work is very technical and requires a high level of skill. Some functions will require the same level of effort and skill, regardless of the number of participants in the plan. Being a boutique firm that caters to the specific needs of clients, ETA Consulting, LLC charges by the function, not by the number of participants. This often create savings for the plan sponsor. This means taking the steps necessary to ensure proper plan compliance while designing the plan to meet the employer’s goals; and not creating the plan to fit preferences of the TPA. The TPA work includes, but is not limited to, plan document preparation when necessary, nondiscrimination testing and Form 5500 preparation.
PLAN CORRECTIONS
Qualified plans must continue to meet “Form” and “Operational” requirements in order to continue to retain their tax advantages. There are instances where, despite the best efforts, the plan falls short of ensuring each of these standards are met. The type of correction needed in each instance will depend on the type and severity of the failure. Edward Angello, ERPA, CPC is a skilled consultant with over 18 years experience in qualified plans. Ed has expertise in identifying the failure, identifying the viable alternatives to correct the failures, and implementing and following through on the correction.
REPRESENTATION DURING IRS AND DOL AUDITS
The examination process begins with the IRS or DOL contacting the employer (typically by mail) and requesting various documents pertaining to the qualified plan. This can create a stressful situation for the employer, especially when they do not possess many of the items being requested. ETA Consulting, LLC is licensed to present clients during audit processes. The services include helping the employer compile all information being requested and creating the information that does not exist (i.e. missing plan documents or non-discrimination tests). ETA Consulting, LLC also plays a key role in helping the clients fix the defects that may be found during audits.
PLAN DOCUMENT SERVICES
Qualified Plans are required to have written documents. A plan that has never had an operational defect may be disqualified by the IRS for not having a written (and timely executed) plan document. ETA Consulting, LLC offers plan documents for the most common types of plans; 401(k), Profit Sharing, Money Purchase, Defined Benefit, 403(b). Our rates are very competitive.
